My Sick Dog

Janurary 27,2011

Cash had another seizure last night. It wasn't as violent or intense as the one he had the day after Thanksgiving, but I am pretty sure it was a seizure. He was doing his usual evening clingy thing and he suddenly jerked his head several times and slobber poured out his mouth like a faucet had been turned on. He then stared into space in a daze for several minutes that seemed like he was looking into another dimension or something. After he remained clingy and pawed at me to pet him constantly. He also lost a bunch of hair during this that just fell out! I am not sure what to do about him but its looking like he is gonna need to go back to the vet and have tests done. Not sure where the money is going to come from to do it though.

Financial Safety Tips from Seniorark.com

I found this in a website  called http://www.seniorark.com/ and thought it was good advice to pass along for senior citizens but for all of us as well.

12. Financial safety tips
NEXT 8 TIPS WERE WRITTEN BY A LAWYER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!   SeniorArk
1. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED".
2. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't have access to it.
3. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks. (DUH!) You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have it printed, anyone can get it.
4. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine. Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place. I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel either here or abroad. We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards. Unfortunately, I, (the author, A LAWYER) have firsthand knowledge because my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieve(s) ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record information online, and more. But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:

 5. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.
 6. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one).

But here's what is perhaps most important of all: (I never even thought to do this.)
7. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and also call the Social Security fraud line number I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my name. The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit.

By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have stopped them dead in their tracks.
8. Now, here are the numbers you always need to contact about your wallet, etc., has been stolen:

Equifax: 1-800-525-6285

 Experian (formerly TRW): 1-888-397-3742

Trans Union: 1-800-680-7289

Social Security Administration (fraud line): 1-800-269-0271

Mega Millions

The Mega Millions Jackpot for tomarrow is a whopping $290 Million! The COV is $182.6 Million! Anyone that knows me knows how I like to fantisize about winning the lotto. I've even filled many notebooks with what I call Fantasy Diary about what happens after I win.
Its hard to even imagine winning that much money. I would need to hire a lawyer and financial consultant for sure. And possibly consider moving away. But I would really like to stay and try to rebuild the community a little.
I would give $10mill to charity right off the bat. Some would be local charities like the pound, kroc center, veterns, schools, etc... And some would be bigger charities like narcolepsy, cancer, make-a-wish, defenders of wildlife, soldiers, etc...
Its a given that my family and friends would be taken care of, no problem.
I would also like to donate money to some local businesses to improve their buisnesses and give some to people to start new buisnesses.
As for the adults in my family and a few close friends, I would give them all a job. They would recieve a salary of $500,000 a yr for 4 yrs, free medical for their family and pets, and expenses paid. Their job for the next 4 years would be to enroll in college. They must be a full time student and have passing grades to keep the benefits.I want a smart family and money talks! LOL.
There is sooo much I could do with that money! To walk into a store and pick out a person and pay for their order, to buy several used cars and give them to people who look as though they need one. To help some of the local people and buisnesses restore their economic status.
Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of selfish things I want too, but anyone that knows me knows I love to give to others so its a big part of it.

A New Year

It's officially 2011 and I hope that its a good year. So many people had a hard time in 2010. There was illness galore, Mother Nature had a year long temper tantrum that caused world wide devestation, the economy was shitty, to put it bluntly, and with everything there was emotions on edge and family quarrels. I can only hope that things look up this year.

I used to make resolutions all the time but as I have got older I make hopes and dreams instead. My hopes for 2011?

Well, besides health, peace and prosperity, for my own personal life I hope to continue to complete what I need to in order to have my bariatric surgery in the late spring or early summer, I hope by the end of 2011 I will be alot lighter and healthier.

I hope to pursue my dream of getting a college education. Watching my sister-in-law's go back to school in 2010 made me so jealous. It is something i've always wanted but weight and narcolepsy issues have kept me from having the guts to pursue it.

I hope to get out and do more. I hope to try and experience new things.

I hope to walk Cash more and that he can get healthy and more socialized.

These are just a few of my hopes for 2011. What are yours?????????????
